So, he bent his head and ran away back to the little hole where he slept at night. His father and mother had come around calling to him shrilly. But for the life of him he could not move.

     Dehradun, July 16, 2016 : An eight-year old girl Reena was washed away as she tried to cross an overflowing nullah on her way to school in Tilwari Bur village of Kalsi near here while it was pouring heavily on Friday, the police said. Altogether 16 persons have lost their lives in rain-related mishaps in Uttarakhand over the past few months. The police have undertaken an extensive search for body of eight-year old Reena.
    Heavy rain across Uttarakhand has resulted in landslips in the higher reaches, affecting the Char Dham Yatra, and water-logging in low-lying areas due to lack of adequate drainage systems, particularly in Dehradun, Hardwar and Udham Singh Nagar.
